The Sportsmen Association of Greensburg was established
in 1955 on 480 acers of land near Mutual, Pennsylvania, to form a body of
men and women interested in the furtherance of good sportsmanship and the
conservation of all game, fish, and other wildlife beneficial to mankind.
The Sportsmen encourage good citizenship by obedience to law and order as
well as promoting and support all types of anti-pollution and conservation
legislation. They also work for the enforcement of all laws and regulations
resulting from such legislation. The Sportsmen are dedicated to providing
better cover, feed, and living conditions for our wildlife and fish. They
also advocate and teach the proper safe handling, and care of firearms to
enlighten the public to the benefits derived from the sports of hunting and
fishing as well as all types of outdoor activities.
The Sportsmen strive to create goodwill among all sportsmen, landowners, land occupants, the Game and Fish commission by the observance of the Code of Good Sportsmenship. The Sportsmen encourage the formation of all plans to create reforestation and other plantings to create a proper habitat for wild game and aid in the purification of air and all public waters.
